The Gentle Mind

About The Gentle Mind

The Gentle Mind is one of the few hypnotherapy practices in York, Leeds, Lincoln, and Louth, aimed at helping people think, feel and act better through Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

Whether struggling with anxiety, depression, and eating disorder or exam stress, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is a useful tool in focusing your attention and turning negative thoughts into positive ones.

Big, small or medium-sized, issues can build up and affect how you feel in yourself.

Asking for help isn't always easy, perhaps you have already tried various techniques to resolve whatever is going on in your life without results. But, the first step is the hardest and getting to this point means you are at least considering the option of speaking to a professional.

My story

I drank too much and ate too much - I was nearly 20 stone, but with the help of hypnotherapy I turned things around.

Now, I run marathons, compete in Ironman events, and have climbed Mont Blanc.

Because of this, I want to return the favour and help you become a better version of yourself.

What is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is based on the theory that our thoughts, feelings and actions are all connected. If we change one of these we can alter the others. For example, when we feel worried or distressed we often fall into patterns of thinking and responding that can worsen how we feel. CBT works to help us notice and change problematic thinking styles or behaviour patterns so we can feel better.CBT has a good evidence base for a wide range of mental health problems in adults, older adults, children and young people. This research has been carefully reviewed by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), who provide independent, evidence-based guidance for the NHS on the most effective ways to treat disease and ill health.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherpy is simply using hypnosis as a way to help you overcome a mental or physical condition.
